Gifts for Gratitudes
What is Gifts for Gratitudes?
Gifts for Gratitudes is the Drenory Renaissance Faire's version of Trinket Trading. The principal behind it is for a patron to offer a small gift to another patron with the intention of receiving nothing in return.
Trading Rules
We ask that anyone participating please abide by the following rules:
As a general rule, gifts should be small, simple items. They can be handmade or store-bought. They can also be natural items such as pebbles or shells. The recipient of such gifts may offer the gifter an item of a similar nature or they may show their gratitude with a smile or a thank you.
The safety of the children attending our faire is of the utmost importance. There must always be an adult present when children are participating in the game. Initial contact must be made by a child or their accompanying adult. If offering a gift in return, please ensure it is appropriate for a child. If you do not have a physical gift for the child, please consider offering them a thank you along with a compliment, joke, or story. Accompanying adults should make children aware prior to the event that they may receive such a response in return and that they should be open to it.
Gifts should not have monetary value nor should they be sold. They are only to be gifted.
Please respect our vendors and their efforts. Do not create/trade gifts that compete with something our vendors offer. Do not offer a gift in trade for their wares. Only children may offer and receive gifts from vendors providing the vendor is displaying the Gifts for Gratitudes symbol of G4G inside a shield.
Gifts may not be offered or given as a tip to vendors or performers. If you wish to include one with your tip you may.
Gifting must be done away from vendors, stages, and other activities. Please be polite and do not approach and offer a gift to a patron who is browsing a vendor’s tent, watching a show, speaking to another patron, or is otherwise engaged in any activity.
Gifting may not be used for self-promotion. Handing out business cards with gifts or adding information to gifts such as your Instagram, website, etc. is not allowed.
Gifts may not be used to promote a political, religious, or other socially controversial topic/points of view.
Please no glitter, confetti, glass, or food items.
